About Us
BIOSEV BIOENERGIA S.A. is a Brazilian company that processes sugarcane, specializing in the production, processing, and sale of sugarcane and its by-products. Biosev operates eight agro-industrial units located in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Minas Gerais, as well as a terminal at the port of Santos in São Paulo.
Founded in 2000, Biosev emerged from the merger of LDC Bioenergia, owned by the Louis Dreyfus Company, and Santelisa Vale, a prominent sugarcane producer and processor in the interior of São Paulo state. In 2009, the company expanded its operations, and it has continued to grow since then. Biosev markets its products within Brazil and exports to over 30 countries across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania.
Biosev generates 1,316 GWh of electricity from sugarcane bagasse, ensuring that all its mills are self-sufficient. The company and its subsidiaries operate five plants. Recently, Biosev signed an agreement with Raízen to pursue corporate and sustainable expansion in the sugar and energy sectors.
Biosev specializes in the production, processing, and sale of sugarcane and its by-products. The company operates in several segments: Sugar, Ethanol, Energy, and Other Products, with the majority of its revenue coming from the Sugar and Ethanol segments. Biosev’s sugar products include crystal sugar, liquid sugar, inverted liquid sugar, refined sugar, and VHP (very high polarization) sugar. Its ethanol offerings consist of hydrous ethanol, anhydrous ethanol, neutral ethanol, and fusel oil.
Geographically, Biosev serves markets in Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Europe. Additionally, on June 15, 2003, the company unanimously agreed to expand its business by trading in several Brazilian products, including soybeans, corn, and wheat.
